I am currently running two social media pages voluntarily with my friends.
MET WARN is a Cantonese weather media based in Hong Kong. We provide instant weather updates and educational content through short social media posts and infographics. One of our special features is live broadcasts for severe weather events (such as typhoons).
In this team, I mainly work for content production, editing and fact-checking. I also help with scriptwriting and technical support before and during live broadcasts.
MET WARN now has more than 60,000 followers on Facebook. Our goal this year is to expand our reach on Instagram and YouTube by producing more video content. We will also publish a weather-themed book this summer.
V Hongkongers is a newly founded Canadian volunteer organization formed by young immigrants from Hong Kong. Aside from giving back to the Canadian society, we also strive to encourage newcomers from Hong Kong to become more civically engaged in their new home.
In this team, I mainly work for promoting events on social media. I also plan to produce short video clips featuring interviews with volunteering participants.
V Hongkongers now has more than 500 followers on Instagram. Our goals this year are to organize different volunteering events and connect with other non-profit organizations.
